The Peel Project

The Peel is a multi-layered project bringing together film, the arts and sciences as a means of telling a uniquely Canadian story of art, adventure and Canadian identity. As one of six southern Canadian artists, daniel j kirk traveled to the Peel Watershed Region in the Yukon/NWT in the late summer of 2014. Making work in response to the land, the people and the idea of the Peel Watershed, the project moved from a documentary film and is now an ongoing study of the role of the artist within Canadian society.
